Spencer and AF Group Partner to Create 2 New Diversity Scholarships and 1 New Course Development Grant
February 7, 2022 – The Spencer Educational Foundation has partnered with AF Group to create two new merit-based diversity scholarships and one new course development grant which will be awarded to a Minority Serving Institution (MSI). Both scholarships and the course development grant will be awarded this year.

Spencer’s new AF Group scholarships, which are merit-based, will be awarded to two undergraduate students who meet Spencer’s standard scholarship criteria and who self-identify with a historically underrepresented race/ethnicity. The AF Group funded Course Development Grant will be awarded to a Minority Serving Institution that is developing an Introductory Risk Management and Insurance course or creating an additional RMI course to expand their existing RMI course offerings.

Spencer’s new partnership with AF Group exhibits the Foundation’s continued work in supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the risk management and insurance industry. This year, Spencer is slated to award over $197,000 in DE&I-related funding including a minimum of 18 merit-based diversity scholarships.
