Call for Proposals -- 2019 Fiscal Year

Spencer is accepting proposals for the 2019 Fiscal Year (starting 1/1/19) for programs, ideas and initiatives that align with the Foundation's mission of funding the education of tomorrow's risk and insurance leaders.

Grant proposals are due by close of business on July 6, 2018.

The Foundation awards a variety of grants to support industry education in addition to the Risk Manager in Residence and Internship grants.

Spencer/RIMS Risk Management Challenge

Each year, nearly 30 schools put their knowledge to the test on a complex risk-management problem at the RIMS Conference to compete for cash prizes. The event helps to elevate the visibility of the study of risk management and insurance. For more information about the contest, please contact Josh Lamangan (jlamangan@rims.org).

 

University of hartford

This grant is to develop insurance technology (InsureTech) curriculum at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The grant was awarded in 2018.

 

University of MISSOURI - KANSAS CITY

This grant is to develop risk management and insurance  curriculum at the undergraduate level. The grant was awarded in 2018.

 

University of akron

This grant is to develop/promote risk management and insurance  curriculum at the undergraduate level. The grant was awarded in 2018.

 

University of Southern California

This grant is to develop risk management and insurance  curriculum at the undergraduate level. The grant was awarded in 2017.

 

Gamma Iota Sigma

The student organization promotes, encourages, and sustains student interest in insurance, risk management, and actuarial science as professions. Spencer supports its Annual International Conference that attracts more than 800 risk and insurance students.

 

Anita Benedetti Student Involvement Program

This program helps fund student attendance to the RIMS Annual Conference. The Foundation awarded a $40,000 grant to RIMS in support of this program, which has been in existence since 1978. 

rims erm & cyber conferences

RIMS is being provided grants to bring students to the 2018 Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Conference and the RIMS Cyber Conference.
